Due to the lack of people attending the lans, we have decided to close.
Over half the people signed up to the last lan didn't turn up.
This has been something that has been getting worse and worse of late.
As a result, uklanparty is closing down.
No more lans and the game server will finish at the end of the month.
Thanks for all the Fun times. Maybe we can still go along as a group to other lans, but no more will be held by us.
I hope you all do well and wish you all the best for the future.

You are indeed correct.
From what Pejay was saying to me at the LAN, a good majority of the "admins" dont actually donate towards the server anymore so Pejay is having to pay most of that himself. Add that cost ontop of a 4 person LAN every month and its quite an amount.
The only thing I can suggest is talking with Pejay and getting more people to donate. |

In my opinion is a true sin to close down a such well-mixed community,a high quality and well balanced server; you are the first to haveworked hard for this...why to close down a high frequented server due tothe lack of players at the lan ?
UKLP server is a lanparty 24 hrs on 24 up... |

Its a money issue. If you can get people to donate, and theres enough people covering the server costs per month, personally I dont see a reason for the server to close. But it is Pejays decision. Like I said, get people willing to donate and speak with Pejay. |

I am unable to keep the server and lan party going due to the amount of money its costing me personaly. I don't have the money.
The server was put in place as a way of taking the Lan party on line, without a lan party there is no need for the server and I can't justify the monthly cost.

Now I'm dissappointed... can't say it isn't expected though. Was hoping to time my visit back to England with a LAN, looks like I missed my chance...

So to keep the server up you'll need 6-7 admin...how many admin are there at the moment?
....but first of all, are you still interested to run the uklp server only or not?
and if the answer is yes why don't you pull a pop up on the server that talk about this lack of money?(maybe something as "10 days to rip...if you want to continue to play on this server...bla bla")

 I am sadly one of those people who did not turn up... Sorry... really really bad month ... + My steam account got hacked so i had zilch for games.. also had to lend my mum a few hundred .....
Really want to come to the next lan lol.. Sorry for booking and not turning up, and why dont you get each admin to donate £2.5 a month that should cover a little 
And start selling things at the LAN to make a bit of cash.. Get sponsored my Steelseries etc.. Buy loads of bulk redbull and sell

Alienware needs 100 confirmed / paid before they will agree to sponsor.
Steelseries / Jolt / Monster / Crucial / Kustom PC / Overclockers / Scan all want 40 - 50 confirmed / paid.
I tried really hard to get sponsors but as I said above, we dont have the numbers.
The problem with buying drink is that it wont sell. All the regulars make a Tesco run friday or saturday. You can get Tesco Kick for £1 which tastes the same as a smaller £1.50 can of Red Bull.
When I go to the i series LAN's I take Jolt / Monster with me, but at £3 a can people wouldnt be all that interested. |
